Pastor's Word

"JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD"

For almost a century, Grace African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church has stood on the hill at 67 1/2 Winters Lane just south of Edmondson Avenue in Catonsville, Maryland.

The AME Church is rich in history having been formed by a slave of African descent who adopted the simple yet profound Methodist order of worship and discipline. Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church is a family church, a group of people related by blood, marriage, adoption or association, but more importantly through faith in Jesus Christ. Our primary purpose is to lead all people to a knowledge of the redeeming and saving grace of God through Christ as we worship, study, and grow together.

We are a, "Family of God," being reclaimed, revived and retooled for a closer walk with Him and to be used by Him for His service.

The doors of Grace AME Church are open to all who may be oppressed, downtrodden, lonely or lost and to those who already know of God's goodness. We are on our way because "His Grace Is On The Move!" Therefore, we gladly welcome all to come that they might discover that, "... the Joy of the Lord is your strength," (Nehemiah 8:10).

There can be no better way to begin a new millennium than by uniting with the fellowship of Grace. We are all sinners, saved by the grace of God. His grace suits our case. His grace will lead us home!

"The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ our Lord;
She is His new creation by water and the word.
From heaven He came and sought her
To be His holy bride;
With His own blood He bought her,
And for her life He died."
